Reviews for ‘J & J and 10 ISA Browns’
I loved reading this story to my grandchildren. They kept pointing to the photos wanting to touch the hens. Jess kept asking when she could get a hen for a pet so that she could have fresh eggs at home.
I borrowed this book from Kew Library to use as an introduction to the topic of ‘Farming’ in my classroom. The layout of the book with the large, clear photographs was perfect to share with my Preps. The rhyming text was clever and it provided further opportunities for language development, leading to writing stories and fun with rhyming words.
What a delightful picture story book. Not only do the photos enhance the story line but also provide an educative experience for young children. It is a delightful book for shared reading for parents and or grandparents, as well as being suitable as a read alone text for children learning to read.
‘J and J and 10 ISA Browns’ is a true picture story book. The large, colourful photos enhance the story providing a great sense of reality to young children. Each page creates a new learning experience telling the story of where eggs really come from; not just from the supermarket.
The cover of ‘J and J and 10 ISA Browns’ catches your eye immediately. The hen almost jumps out enticing you to look further to see what is inside. The rhyming text, complemented with the amazing photos, together, have resulted in an excellent picture book for little children.
